Boyd stopped construction on Echelon in 2008 during the economic downturn, and sold the land and partially constructed resort in 2013 to Genting. Genting Group bought the site of the former Stardust for $350 million from Boyd Gaming, which demolished the resort in 2007 to develop Echelon Place.
